"Full" from Waverly Growers Cooperative

Waverly Growers Cooperative is based in the town of Waverly in the heart of Florida citrus country, the middle of the state. They've been in business for a hundred years!

This label was used primarily for first-grade juice oranges and was probably created around 1940. At one time the same character also fronted a label called "Full-O-Min," which presumably was a nod to the vitamins in orange juice.

The character on the label never really had an official name, so here at Local Color Collection, we recently ran a contest. Today we call her Twiggy Fresh. (Which is neither male nor female, but lately we've been thinking of her as female.) Doesn't she look great for a 75-year-old?
