"Big C" from W.G. Blair

Clearwater's world-famous white sand beaches on the Gulf of Mexico inspired a stunning image to represent the W.G. Blair company. Since much of citrus country is inland, beaches aren't a common theme on citrus label artwork. Add to that the fact that Pinellas County isn't a major citrus producer, and that makes Big C a really special citrus crate label!

This label was created sometime between 1930 and 1950 by the International Label Company in Tampa, FL.

Even though we're not sure what the "C" in Big C stands for, it's fun to think about the possibilities. Conch shells? Coconuts? Citrus? Oh, maybe Clearwater. Yeah...that's probably it.
